Malcolm Clarke is an award-winning screen editor, best-selling children’s book author and sell out theatre maker.

His career in media spans two decades and four different countries. Malcolm’s passion for creative pursuits led him to travel the world working as a core contributor to high rating, award winning entertainment television shows like America’s Got Talent, The Voice UK and Love Island.

While his bread and butter comes from editing for screen Malcolm has more recently found his niche writing heart-warming stories for young people about our natural world. The success of his first book and stage show, Tu Meke Tūī!, shows just how powerful it can be when children get to learn about the environment in a fun and accessible way.

Malcolm believes that highlighting the importance of conservation through inspiring stories will help to prepare children to be kaitiaki (guardians) who care for their world now and in the future.

His wealth of experience and ‘try anything’ attitude has earned him invitations to present at events such as the Auckland Writers Festival and the Children’s Book Awards at Te Papa. Malcolm’s next mission is to develop a series of collaborative workshops for children to grow literary awareness, and inspire young creatives in New Zealand.
